What We Do

Art’s House Schools of Music, Dance & Fine Arts (AHS) is a not-for-profit organization located in Coney Island, Brooklyn. We have provided formal instruction in dance, music, and fine art to children ages 3-17 and senior citizens onsite and off-site, since October 2005. Since that time, we have served and influenced the lives of thousands of children and senior citizens living in or attending school in Coney Island, Seagate, Brighton Beach, and Gravesend.

Art’s House Schools’ mission is to provide culture in the humanities for children in the Coney Island community while providing them with the opportunity to build self-esteem, self-confidence and develop poise, grace, and balance.

Located in New York City’s Community District 13, AHS serves a community of 115,277 persons. Twenty-six percent of residents’ income was less than half the poverty level, about double the rate in New York, 13% as per the U.S. Census Bureau (2019). The community currently hosts twenty-four Title One schools, ten public high schools, two public intermediate/JHS schools, nine public elementary schools, and three special/ other schools. The total enrollment of these schools is over 20,000.

Annually, Art’s House Schools serve over seventy students onsite. Five percent of AHS’ students are on full scholarship. Ninety percent of them are on a partial scholarship and pay their remaining balance out of pocket. The remaining five percent receive no scholarship and pay their entire tuition. Your donation will provide more scholarships to deserving, underprivileged, and culturally under-served children.
